A good belly laugh is worth how many calories burned?

When was the last time you had a good belly laugh?

Well if it has been awhile you might want to include some laughter into your daily 3 minute workout. We all know that a merry heart does a body good, but did you know


Ok well it might not be that significant but here is how it works. When you laugh and I mean from the belly, side splitting, going to pee your pants kind of laughing, your heartrate experiences an increase of up to 20%. This in turns increases your metabolism which in turn creates an after burn affect.

Laughter also has an effect on weight loss by

  • #1. decreasing the stress hormone “cortisol” which we all know and hate as the bugger that causes us to hold on to our fat.  

  • #2. Increases the beta endorphins which are the feel good hormones that give you a natural feeling of well being.  

  • #3. Increases the human growth hormone, T cells and globulin which is good for our immune system. 

The other day I saw a Jim Carey video that I still am laughing about

every time I think about it. I just can’t help thinking how much he must really feel like Sylvester Stallone.  Please take a look at it and tell me if it keeps you laughing for days. If not find what cracks you up and laugh a couple pounds off.
