That’s what I tell myself every time I do a little” workout and find myself out of breath or sweating. You see THAT is the only way to really burn fat.

The two things that must occur to really BURN FAT are:

  1. SWEAT
  2. HUFF AND PUFF (not like the big bad wolf) Like running to catch the bus, walking up 4 flights of stairs, lifting your couch, kind of huffing and puffing.

It really is true. I remember when I joined Jillians network and told her about my lack of progress in losing the pounds, her response was

“there is only one way for you to lose that fat….SWEAT!  I hated her for that…

I never followed her program. Instead I ended up creating my own and now I am sweating and huffing and puffing 3 minutes at a time. Somehow it doesn’t seem as cruel as having someone like Jillian yelling in your face to SWEAT!! (she’s not really cruel) Some people do not respond to that time of encouragement. If you are reading this you are probably one of them.

Nothing about losing weight is easy.

The other main ingredient to success is commitment and motivation. For me it’s like looking at the scales and being able to say “wow I have dropped a few pounds.” When I do some exercise and sweat or get out of breath I can say “wow I am burning fat!”

So the next time you are doing your 3 minutes of exercise to your favorite tunes, and you start to get a little out of breath, let this motivate you to keep on going.
