“Hey I’m walking here!”

Are you walking right?

If you are experiencing any type of back pain or back problems there is a good chance you’re NOT!!!

Several years ago I bought a great pair of leather clogs with just about a one inch heal on them. I distinctly remember sitting a my sons football game and having to stretch out my leg because it had begun to feel numb and pinching sensation down the back of it. I was in my late 30’s early 40’s. It wasn’t long after that when one morning I could not get out of bed. I literally had to crawl down the hall and hoist myself up using various pieces of furniture. Somehow I carried on and happened to bump into my friend who is a black belt in a martial art self defense style that includes kick boxing.

(He actually lost a testicle as a result of a kick inflicted by one of his students)

He obviously knows what it is like to have pain inflicted on him and how to get “fixed”. He gave me the card of his body man, and said “go see him he’ll get you fixed right up”. I was desperate, as a nurse the option of surgery is not one I would ever consider and if you want to hear the horror stories just email me.

I went to see John Lien a renowned massage therapist and martial arts instructor.

He is skilled in many different techniques including one he developed himself when he was told he would need surgery to ever be able to walk without pain.

My first session with him was a painful one and when I got off the table I still could not walk so he would not let me leave. Back on the table for another 45 minutes until I was pain free. He informed me that I should probably never wear heels again and that I needed to learn how to walk again.

I have continued to see him since for “tune ups” and each time he tells me how to walk.

The next time you go for a walk, listen to your footsteps as they hit the ground. Are they even or is it more of a “CLIP CLOP CLIP CLOP” sound? If so you are at risk to throwing your back out of alignment and overtime rupturing a disc.

The key to walking correctly can be found in my soon to be posted interview with John if you are interested please leave me your email and a short message.
