Keeping your eye on the target
In a recent post I revealed the six most important tasks in life are in order to succeed. Love, forgiveness, patience, gratitude, courage, which are all good and awesome but without the 6th one are just words….FOCUS. You have to keep bringing your thoughts back to love, to forgiveness, patience, gratitude and courage, that is the focus, the fine tuning the ability to keep your eye on the target.
It was a post about 2020 vision, and how this year 2020 was to be the year of clarity. I explained that 2020 vision was not really perfect vision It all comes down to focus, and focus comes down to taking care of what is important.
I am fine tuning my e-course and I came across this excerpt which I must say is enlightening, brilliant and goes beyond the normal yada yada weight loss jargon. I would almost say it is anointed, as it lays before you a perfect blueprint for how to achieve almost any goal. Whether it is moving on from a painful relationship, a nowhere job, a hamster wheel diet and exercise program this little bit of info will blow your mind and any other info you have been considering out of the water.
So open your minds and take a peek….
Excerpt from The Science of Happy Weight Loss
Being over weight is a result of the habit of eating a certain way with a certain level of activity. There are many reasons we develop the habit in the first place but first let’s start with learning new habits.
Our brains have this cool thing called “Neuroplasticity” derived from the words neuron and plastic. A neuron is a nerve cell made up of an axon and a dentrite linked to one another by chemical and electrical impulses called synapses. Plastic means to mold, sculpt or modify. Neuroplasticity refers to the potential that the brain has to reorganize by creating new brain pathways. It is the brains way of training itself to meet your needs.
Imagine it as a camera bringing its target into focus. The more you adjust or practice a thing the better you become. You are creating new brain pathways.
That statement right above there is pure genius. Just imagine, practicing focusing on the kind of love you deserve, or your body free from pain and excess weight. Focus on what you can do today to make someones day better, or how to properly nourish your body. The more we focus the better we become on that task.

When the synapse finally fires together, that is the AHH-HA moment. That is the moment when you finally get it and it becomes a natural response to a trigger. It was thought until recently that the human brain which consists of 100 billion neural cells, could not generate new ones. That we were born with a certain number and when that cell died no new ones would grow. It has now been proven that the brain can generate new cells, and new brain pathways. (PET scans and MRIs have shown us this) That’s why I am so excited about this course. It proves that although not easy you can with focus and practice create a new brain pathway which in essence is making a new habit….a new lifestyle. In this class you will be creating an enhanced living environment with increased social interaction and focused skill that promote change in a specific area of life, your health and fitness.
Habits are either constructive which move you toward your goal or destructive moving you away. It’s important to recognize your negative thoughts and emotions. Becoming aware of beliefs you have that are holding you back is essential to being able to let go of them
Now there is a little sentence in that quote above that is the one that cements this whole thing together and really any of the curves life throws you.
Recognize your negative thoughts and emotions. They will always hold you back. Start doing the things that diminish them so that your positive thought processes can emerge. block.
