You’ve been hitting the gym 3 times a week faithfully now for 3 months.

You are doing ridiculous amount of burpees, killer leg workouts, and sweating! Still you aren’t seeing the results. What am I doing wrong, why can’t I lose weight?  Those are the questions going through your mind along with…why even try any more nothing is working? I will never lose the weight!

Believe me you are not alone. And to be truthful with you there is no single answer to why you aren’t losing the weight. I want to share three universal good for everyone answers from the Happy Weight Loss class..

  1. Keep in mind that it took you a long time to accumulate that weight and it has been with you for probably a long time as well. Your body will fight to retain what it has come to know as normal. It is important to not give up and to focus on the little victories and small changes you have made to change your lifestyle. Little by little you can train your brain to accept a new normal for you even if it is just drinking 6-8 glasses of ice water each day.

  2. No one wants to hear that they eat too much. Maybe you are maybe you’re not, what is important is keeping the balance of energy in (food) to energy out ) exercise. One great way to keep this in check is to track it. In fact I recommend tracking everything, from what you eat, what you buy, what you do for exercise, it’s called journaling in detail. Once you see it on paper the lights will turn on and you will get your AHA moment.

  3. You may be on what is known as “maintenance.” I can’t tell you how many times I have heard women say, “I walked everyday for an entire year and ate carrot sticks and celery and didn’t lose a pound” What was happening here is that they hit a plateau of complete balance between energy input and energy output while using long periods of moderate intensity exercise ie. walking. Now walking by itself has been known to drop pounds off of very obese people but these warriors walked for miles and miles everyday I’m talking hours a day. Which if I had the time to do that I would love it. Keep in mind if you are walking everyday for any amount of time… to give yourself a pat on the back for doing somethingHowever there is a new sheriff in town and its called short bursts of moderate intensity exercise. I call it 3 minute inc. 3 minutes of exercise incorporated into your day. These short burst accompanied by interval training can produce loss of fat as effectively as High Intensity Interval training workouts.

So if you are ready to really change your lifestyle and learn a natural style of exercise that doesn’t require you having to go to a gym, buying gym clothes, paying for gym memberships etc..
